God has laid on my heart to share a little on this topic. This is especially for people that have been hurt in previous times by situations and circumstances, which they have failed to understand or explain. These incident(s) have left many speechless, and thus leaving a deep feeling of unease. It is not often easy, to console such an individual by saying “I know how you feel, I can imagine how it must feel to be in your shoes”, because really, you or we can’t. Such people understand the situations on a personal note, basically because they have encountered the struggles, and some sadly are still actively involved. In such situations, only God understood and saw them go through those situations and only Him will see them through.
I may not know who you are, what you have gone through or what you are going through right now, but I want you to know that God’s plan for you doesn’t end here. There is more He has in store for you. Have you had reasons to question God? Are you angry at God? Have you heard statements like “Leave it to God”, “Only God understands”, “God gives and God takes away?”, “Who are we to question God?”, “What doesn’t kill you will make you stronger”, “There is light at the end of the tunnel”
Did you lose someone you never expected to? Was it someone you loved dearly? Did you fail beyond your expectations? Was the result you saw far less than the hard work, which you put in? Did the person you believed in let you down? Did you give up at some point, and feel life wasn’t worth living anymore? Were you disappointed because you felt that you failed yourself? Has there been a recurrent case that hasn’t been solved? Is there a trend in your family that you think will affect you? Have you totally given up on Jesus? You know your struggle, and you know how things have been. Can you, at this point believe God isn’t done with you yet? Can you believe that he still has a plan for you?
1 I look up to the mountains;
does my strength come from mountains?
2 No, my strength comes from God,
who made heaven, and earth, and mountains.
3 He won’t let you stumble,
your Guardian God won’t fall asleep.
4 Not on your life! Israel’s
Guardian will never doze or sleep.
5 God’s your Guardian,
right at your side to protect you —
6 Shielding you from sunstroke,
sheltering you from moonstroke.
7 God guards you from every evil,
he guards your very life.
8 He guards you when you leave and when you return,
he guards you now, he guards you always.
Ps 121 (MSG)
This is probably the most difficult message to take in at the moment, but it is exactly what God wants you to hear. I want you to forgive God, if you feel He has hurt you beyond your expectations, if you feel He didn’t do as you expected, if you feel He abandoned you and left you in the dark night to freeze to death, if He didn’t protect you, when you needed him to protect you or someone you loved the most, if you don’t think He has been of much help to you. Are you still angry with God? Please forgive Him, pour your heart out to him. Let him know how you feel. Forgiveness from what I know brings freedom, forgive God!
I would like to point out a few biblical examples to you. Nothing is more effective than some examples of others that have gone through your kind of situation. Let’s look at Joseph: Joseph could not ask for more from God, he was totally loved by his father, though at the detriment of his brothers. It could be said that he could have inherited most of his father’s properties, because of the bond of love he had with his father, Jacob. But he was shown total hardship and betrayal by his brothers; he was thrown into the pit first, and then sold to the Egyptians, never to be with his family again. This act was simply because of the beautiful dreams of the future God had revealed to him, which he made them know about. Have you been left alone and rejected by your family because of the size of the dreams God has placed into your hands? Joseph was sold into slavery, and like many other people, Joseph could have given up, because the reality he was seeing was totally different from what his dreams were. He had another mindset though; he knew God’s plans for him didn’t end in slavery. He took his work seriously and excelled in it, and by his diligence, he was made head over all things. When he was thrown into prison, he excelled there as well, because of the understanding he had. No matter how bad your situation may be, believing that God’s plans for you are greater, will help you excel and propel you towards the place he has in store for you. At the end of it all, Joseph was restored to the very height God destined him to be, the very place that God revealed to him 13 years before. Your restoration is close by, keep on, God’s plan for you will manifest!
Have you lost everything? Are you alone in the world? Job, another unique man seen in the bible, practically lost all he had in one day, he lost all his children, and his businesses ran to zero in one day. As if that was not enough, he was afflicted with boils all over his body, every single area. All he was left with was a wife that didn’t see any reason for his being alive, she advised him to “Curse God and die!” She simply meant, “with all your dedication and prayers unto God, with all your being godly and righteous, with all your following hard after God, this happened?”. It was not worth it, hate God, be angry at God, curse God, abuse him, make him know he isn’t a good God, let him know he is a partial God, curse God and die!” Many of us have struggled to continue life after losing one person, just imagine Job losing all his children the same day. Job didn’t take it up against God, he worshipped God, although he showed God how much he didn’t understand, he was still steadfast. Have you lost everything in your own world like Job did? God’s plans for you don’t stop here! The mistake Job’s wife made was that she assumed God’s plans for Job had ended, thank God we all can see the end. God restored double of what Job lost back to him and gave him long life unto him. God obviously still had greater plans for Job through his darkness, greater light awaited him. Greater light awaits you my friend, only if you can believe and walk towards it.
Don’t sink into depression; God has better plans for you! He says in His word. “For I know the plans I have towards you, there are plans of good and not of evil to bring you to the expected end Jer 29:11.” God still has good plans for you, regardless of your thoughts and your current situation. You may have to convince yourself continuously about this. Let’s take another example, the case of Ruth. She lost her husband and was in the wrong land, a land plagued by famine. She and Naomi, her mother-in-law came back to the land of their husbands after a while. They could have decided to stay and lived a life of poverty, and just watch as their days went by. But Ruth remained extremely positive, and journeyed with her mother in law, even though it seemed like there was nothing to look up to. God’s plan for Ruth was yet to unfold, thank God she was hopeful. After such an unpleasant past experience, she was able to get married to a great man, Boaz. Such favor only fell into her hands because God had a great plan for her. If she judged God in her darkness, she may not have received of the plan God had for her. God’s plan for you doesn’t end where you are. Believe God! There are many stories of great people today; each of who had many struggles and or situations that could have held them back. But as their stories have unfolded, we see that they pushed forward, being as hopeful and believing stronger than ever, and they are doing great today.
In light of all this I have said, I just want to let you know that, your current or past situation is part of your process, forge ahead today. I want to encourage you to go on, move ahead, build some momentum and don’t stop. Don’t let any situations, circumstance, or person stop you from achieving all that God has in store for you. God loves you!
10 Don’t panic. I’m with you.
There’s no need to fear for I’m your God.
I’ll give you strength. I’ll help you.
I’ll hold you steady, keep a firm grip on you.
11 “Count on it: Everyone who had it in for you
will end up out in the cold —
Those who worked against you
will end up empty-handed —
nothing to show for their lives.
12 When you go out looking for your old adversaries
you won’t find them —
Not a trace of your old enemies,
not even a memory.
13 That’s right. Because I, your God,
have a firm grip on you and I’m not letting go.
I’m telling you, ‘Don’t panic.
I’m right here to help you.’
Isa 41:10-13 (MSG)
God bless you!
