There are no sexual secrets in our world anymore, and we need to come to terms with this truth quickly. With the easy access to porn on the internet, there is truly no regulation to who sees what and when it is being seen. The real issue is pornography doesn’t just come and go. It awakens curiosity, which later becomes an addiction, which becomes a normal habit that takes many years to come out of. And most of the time, porn comes with its twin; masturbation. I came across these statistics a while ago, and I was broken at the reality of how much porn has eaten into our generation. These statistics are just a fraction of the picture of the real pornography situation. Please take your time to read and see how deep this is:

From a survey of more than 4400 men in South Africa:

I am really bothered because pornography addiction from what I have seen, has no age bracket for those in its web. From the young ones, to the teens, youths, adults and the aged. Even the leaders in organizations, churches, and even married partners are addicted to porn. I think it is high time we put on the light on this dark monster and save each other. We can’t afford to turn the blind eye anymore. The church can not continue acting like porn doesn’t exist, this is the reality right here in our faces. The real question is “what are we doing about it?” Parents also can not just assume that their good kids are safe from the porn wave. There are porn adverts all over the place, even the movies and music videos that trend today contain a lot of nudity that leads many to pornographic materials. I know what I am saying because I was once addicted, but Jesus set me totally free (I hope to share my testimony with you one day). Countless number of people have also discussed this porn issue that they have been struggling with, with me. More than half of the people you know watch porn regularly, that’s how serious this is. If you shake hands with 10 people today, at least 5 of them can’t stop viewing porn. No jokes!

If you are reading this and you are hooked on porn and probably masturbation, I also put up this article to let you know that you are not alone. I know you have hidden this from every single person you know and you’ve tried to overcome it alone. Don’t give up on your freedom, it’s time to shed some light on your darkness. The most difficult thing to do is the strongest way out, tell someone you trust and that you can be answerable to about it (This is one of the strongest ways to be free). Get some light in your darkness, the word of God is there to help you, prayer is your strongest connection to God, and Gods grace is available for you to make the right choice over wrong every time. You need help, I need help, our generation needs help. God must help us. Let’s find ways to help each other and defeat this monster together. Silence is no more the answer. Help!!!

You’ll be doing a lot of people you know a huge favour by sharing this article with them through your social media accounts and to people personally. The truth is you never know who is addicted. Everyone has to face this reality we have all been hiding from and trying to avoid. Porn addiction thrives in secrecy and darkness. Every Pastor or church leader should see this, and everyone you know should be aware of this, so that we can realize how huge the task at hand is, and begin to find how to bring forth solutions. God would help everyone of us.

Share your thoughts, and lessons from your experiences and observations too. Let’s sincerely talk about this, I’m sure there is a lot to learn.

Thanks for reading.

  2. The stats are really glaring. This shows that people need the word of God in their spirits. We as Christians have to dispense the word intensively but with LOVE. We need to pray for each other regularly.

  3. I cried Victory when I read these Statistics because I know how Porn pollutes the Soul, I may if lead share about this one day on my Blog, it shocks me to see Porn when I’m looking for pictures of animals or flowers etc but for now I would like to share my own Story but not in reference to Porn but with masturbation which you also shared about.

Circumstances made in impossible for me to have sex in the normal way, so a Christian Doctor seeking to be helpful advised a vibrator for me because of my age, I was still in need of sexual release.

At first it helped but than the nightmares began and I saw myself having sex with different men, they had no faces, I would wake up feeling guilt and despair, so I asked God for His help, although I never hear Him audibly like some do I know in my heart and mind when He speaks to me and He told me to throw away the Vibrator, I said; but how will I handle not having sexual release, He told me He would enable me to manage.

It’s been many years now and I have not needed sex in anyway from that day, God gave me the gift of being celebrant, my Passion now has a different focus which is Him and His great Love for us, He will carry us in the Storms life brings of this we never have to doubt.

Isaiah 43:1-3 – Do not be afraid, for I have ransomed you. I have called you by name; you are mine. When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the LORD, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Saviour.”
