GAY RIGHTS: GIVE US A TRULY FREE WORLD

I sincerely hope President Obama gets to read this. And David Cameron, who somewhat has become the Prime minister of the 51st state of the North American country. Both men and several other World rulers have a significant role to play in giving us the World of our dreams. Thanks to them. We are moving closer and closer to the world we have always dreamt of. We must get there for sure. Under their watch, the world has hit the fast track. Gay and homosexual rights have gained prominence and taken the centre stage. Woe betides those nations who turn the deaf ear and recklessly violate the fundamental human rights of their citizens. No nation that appended that famous United Nations Charter has a right to question what consensual adults do in the privacy of their bedrooms. No one! On the 7th of January 2014, Nigeria’s President Goodluck Jonathan again hugged the limelight, for the wrong reasons. He silently, but surely signed the anti-gay bill into law, stipulating various jail terms for offenders. The nation is therefore sure to incur the wrath of western nations with their vision of sex-for-aids deals. Nigeria will ultimately lose out as nations share the spoils of a new world order. The earlier they pull the nation back from the brink, the better for us. We detest a pariah status. We had better retrace our steps, for the truth of the matter is, it’s a new world!

Welcome: The world of our dreams! A world without restraints. In this new world, morality is dead and buried. Just name it! Anything that was once evil has suddenly become so good, and in vogue. From pre-marital sex to adultery, to abortion and prostitution, homosexuality and now marijuana, it’s no holds barred. Pre-marital sex? That’s old school. Girls should be ashamed of their virginity. Adultery is just an affair. The grass is much greener on the other side. Prostitutes are simply sex workers, using what they have to get what they need. Homosexuality has the best argument- God made them so. Wow!!! Marijuana? – Oh, so great, so medicinal, so cool! Simply does the magic. CNN Chief Medical Correspondent, Dr Sanjay Gupta entertained us a while ago on it. Just why did it take us so long to discover this? Abortion? You shed no blood. It’s your life and your right to keep or clip. Celebrities? You are no celebrity if you haven’t bared it all yet. Look beyond Rihanna and Beyonce. Outdo them. Enter stardom. It’s here with us too. Fans braying for flesh. They give us what we crave. Post nude pictures for a billion viewers-no shame, no remorse. We hail them and urge them on. Why? Simple: It’s the new world!!!

But we mustn’t stop there. It’s too late to stop now. Let’s go the whole hog. The new world has its code: everything or anything once labelled “evil” or “morally reprehensible” should be accepted as norm once violation of fundamental human rights is established. Let’s get rid of all prudish boundaries. Yes, all. They serve no logical purposes anymore. Let’s throw them all away. It just does not fit the world of our dreams.

Enter: Cocaine and Heroin.

Why not? For crying out loud, these drugs should be declassified! It’s our fundamental human right to do what we choose with our lives. We are adults. We all know what is good for us. If it’s good for me, who should tell me it’s not? Who gets hurt here? Who cares? If I choose to get “high”, woe to that demon who wants to keep me “low”. I am confident this will get the nod sooner than you think.

Enter: Bestiality.

Yes, men will marry their dogs soon. Many have confessed to sexual attraction only to their beast. That’s their sexual orientation. It’s not their making. God made them so. Sounds morally reprehensible to you? Come on, get off it! Think more about the social amenities the Nigerian government has denied its dying citizens. Wasn’t homosexuality in the same backward waters twenty years ago? Now we are free at last. No big deal here. So what are we waiting for? We should allow men who have no feelings for neither male nor female gender to be happy with their beast. It’s their fundamental human right. Right, right? No one gets hurt here. He owns his animal. He chooses to tie the knot with him or her. Should we care about what a man does with his dog in the privacy of his bedroom or kennel? Do the rights of the animal matter? Consent for the beast? Forget that one.

Enter: Incest.

Yes. This has got to happen. We urgently need favourable legislation for this in our new world. A father is in love with his daughter and seeks her hand in marriage. Why not? These are two consenting adults, genuinely and passionately in love with each other. Love knows no colour, age or creed. To crown it all, it’s their fundamental human right. Its love we are talking about here. Who can dictate to anyone whom to love and be with? May no government quench this kind of fire. If they have not for gays and lesbians, why do it now? I really can’t wait for this. A world where fathers take their daughters to the altar, and the bride’s mother, who also doubles as the groom’s ex, cheers on from the pew. Sounds somehow? No! We must get there. We have not seen anything yet. It’s the world we crave. Do you want the teaser? Fast-forward: A few years down the line, a young man, now a “celebrity”, stands before an audience, a product of an incestuous marriage, and proudly says into the microphone “Ladies and gentlemen, I am such a unique child. My father is my grandfather!!!” And the audience breaks into a thunderous applause and gives him a standing ovation! You think it can’t happen? So you and I thought about homosexual unions some few decades ago. We are almost there now, and we must get there.

Enter: Bigamy

Enter: Paedophiles.

Enter: Rape.

Rape? Is this not carrying it too far? This is not consensual. It is madness. So we all think today, but by tomorrow, this thinking will be alien to our newer world we are creating today. It doesn’t always mean violation of another’s rights when you don’t get consent. After all, super powers have waged war against lesser nations without getting the consent of the United Nations Security Council as stipulated by law. They searched for purported weapons of mass destruction where none existed and they got away with it. Great nations have raped smaller nations, killing thousands of innocent citizens in the process, violating their fundamental human rights and their rights to live, yet they remain unchallenged today. They have set a template for rape in the new world. In our new world, when women flagrantly flaunt their own “weapons of mass destruction”, men would need no consent under the law to “attack”.

Enter: anarchy, the illusionary triumph of man over God. The world is on its final journey, its final descent into the abyss, no man can stop it. But the Bible presages these events:

Is there more to add? Hardly! The brilliant Indian thinker, Dr. Ravi Zacharias has said most succinctly: “We cannot talk about human rights without the right to be human.” That closes it for me.
